In just one month, the latest music video “Compliance” by British band MUSE has already racked up over 2.4 million views. Talentedly directed and written by the award-winning Jeremi Durand
The brief for the video, shot in Warsaw, Poland, directly corresponded to the director’s world, whose style is clearly evident here. ”
It’s a song about conformity, as its title suggests. We’re dealing with very current social themes, the doubts we may have about what surrounds us, how humans evolve, how and by whom they are governed. The notion of time always inspires me a lot. And here we’re in reverse, so we deconstruct ,” he explains. As with many of his projects, the viewer finishes the viewing half-satisfied but fully satisfied. Challenged by what they’ve just seen, their mind full of questions that Jeremi leaves open to answer. ”
A video is one, or even two, strong images, and so it’s the sensation, the feeling that remains. That’s what matters above all .” Currently working on three other musical projects, Jeremi is developing photography and advertising in parallel, and is in the middle of writing his first feature film.
